At this hands-on, interactive workshop, you will learn how to create a healthier and safer workplace for yourself and your assistants. This training is made possible by SEIU Local 99 and developed in conjunction with California Department of Public Health, Occupational Health Branch. At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- Identify potential physical risks associated with child care (such as lifting children and holding infants, which can cause back injuries).
- Develop solutions to control the spread of disease while using the least toxic chemicals possible.
- Discuss how to control work-related injuries and stress. Examine different steps to protect health and safety in our day cares.
