LAUSD School Facilities Attendants: The District is hiring Building & Grounds Workers. Get free training this summer

Train over the summer and gain the skills to fill new openings for Building & Grounds Workers (B&G). Be aware that school sites make the hiring decisions on custodial staff and some principals are opting to hire more B&G workers instead of School Facilities Attendants. Take advantage of training to ensure greater job security and promotional opportunities.

Classes for current School Facilities Attendants will be held:

June 13, 2016 – June 24, 2016 – South LA

July 11, 2016 to July 22, 2016 – San Fernando Valley

The class will be an eight (8) hour a day class from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (Monday through Friday) for ten (10) days. You will be notified of the location when you submit your information. Each student must attend all the scheduled classes to receive an eighty (80) hour certificate. This certificate along with the minimum requirements for employment allows you to work for LAUSD as a Provisional Building & Grounds Worker (PBGW). Upon completion of a paid PBGW hands-on training program you will be eligible to continue to work as a PBGW and you will also meet the requirements necessary to take the Building and Grounds Worker (BGW) Employment Exam. If you are successful with the examination process you will be placed on an eligibility list that will be provided to sites that have BGW vacancies. Based on your ranking on the eligibility list, the interview process will begin at the respective sites.
