We met around the table for the first time on March 1, 2016 to negotiate wages and benefits for 2015-2016. Our bargaining was facilitated by Jonathan Pearl of Dannis, Wolliser and Kelley. We received and recommitted to using an interest-based approach in these negotiations.
The parties also reviewed: the terms of the recent SMMCTA settlement, the current financial situation of the district (per the 2nd Interim Report), and the results of the 2015 SMMUSD Salary Study- Findings and Recommendations.
We concluded the day with the parties presenting their initial wage interests for 2015-2016.
Our next negotiations are scheduled for March 10, 2016.
