LAUSD Teacher Assistants, Special Ed. Assistants, and other LAUSD employees — Are you aspiring to become a teacher?

LAUSD is actively looking for new teachers and this is a great opportunity to hear directly from recruiters about programs and opportunities to help start your teaching career at LAUSD. LAUSD’s Certificated Recruitment, Selection and Credential Services Division will be leading sessions on:

  • The Para Educator Career Ladder Program
  • Substitute Teaching and Teaching Under Contract
  • LAUSD’s Intern Program

 

Need training to advance to a new job at LAUSD?

LAUSD’s Talent Acquisition and Selection Branch will be presenting informational sessions on the following topics and meeting individually with interested Local 99 members about:

  • Training opportunities
  • Tuition reimbursement benefits
  • Job promotion opportunities available to participants

 

Plus, more resources including:

  • Employers hiring seasonal and part time workers
  • Resume writing and job interview workshops
  • Community support services
  • Free food distribution from SEIU Local 99’s Food Pantry (while supplies last)
  • MTA Bus & Metro Discount Vouchers (bring a paycheck stub and i.d.)

As a school employee, you know the summer months can be some of the most difficult for you and your family when work is not available.Our union, SEIU Local 99, is fighting on different fronts to help bring support and relief to union members, including pushing for the expansion of summer school and legislation to allow school workers to receive unemployment insurance benefits during the summer break.

We’re bringing together many helpful resources to provide you with information and some summer relief as we continue to fight for long-term solutions.

On June 10, SEIU Local 99 presents the Summer Relief Resource Fair. This first-ever Fair will feature:

  • Opportunities to meet with employers hiring seasonal and part time workers
  • Information on LAUSD’s Para Educator Career Ladder Program and substitute and full time teaching opportunities (must be currently employed with LAUSD)
  • Information on training, tuition reimbursement benefits, and opportunities for job promotion with LAUSD (must be currently employed with LAUSD)
  • Resume writing and job interview workshops
  • Information on community support services
  • MTA Bus & Metro Discount Vouchers (bring a paycheck stub and valid i.d.)
  • Free food distribution from SEIU 99 Food Pantry (while supplies last)
