Thank you for your interest in organizing a First Aid and CPR Training at your school! In order to host a training session at your school, submit a request and follow the instructions below.

How to Organize a Training at Your School

 

  1. Complete the FIRST AID/CPR/AED TRAINING AUTHORIZATION FORM

    • Provide at least two date options with the first date being at least three weeks out. No exceptions.
    • Make sure to get your administrator’s approval signature on the form.
    • Incomplete forms will not be accepted.
  2. Sign-up at least 24 of your coworkers using the
    FIRST AID/CPR/AED TRAINING SIGN-UP SHEET

    • Exceptions to the minimum can be made for small work sites.
    • Your coworkers must be Local 99 Members.
    • You can sign up Local 99 Members from other work sites if your administrator allows it.
    • Make sure members read and understand the New Policy and the Cancellation Policy (see below) before signing up.
  3. Submit the FIRST AID/CPR/AED TRAINING AUTHORIZATION FORM and all the SIGN UP SHEETS
    Fax, email or mail the forms to the SEIU Local 99 office you when you submit your Request.

What to Expect

After submitting the forms, the Local 99 receptionist will contact you via email and let you know if all of the people on your sign-up sheet are members. You may need to ask people to become members to reach 24 enrollees. Non-members can apply for membership at any of our three offices or apply online.

Once 24 members are signed up for the class, your request will be submitted to the Red Cross. When the Red Cross accepts your date, your Receptionist will notify you through email.

It is important to pay attention to your incoming emails during this process.

Facility Requirements

It will be your responsibility to secure a space at your school to have the training and audio-video equipment to play a DVD.

Policies

New Policy
In order for more members to have access to the limited class space, members may only register for a class that is within six (6) months of their certification expiration.  Please note First Aid and CPR Certificates are good for two (2) years.

Cancellation Policy
Local 99 wants to ensure as many members as possible are scheduled and classes are filled to capacity. If you are unable to attend, please notify Local 99 at least 4 business days before the training date. Except for emergencies, if you fail to notify Local 99 that you are unable to attend, you will NOT be able to register for a CPR/First Aid training through Local 99 for six (6) months. By submitting your request, you indicate that you have read, understand and accept the cancellation policy. The contact information you provide will be used by SEIU Local 99 and the American Red Cross to provide you updated information on classes and your certificate. Please make sure you keep this information up-to-date and accurate. As a member of Local 99, this training is being provided to you free of charge.
