Stand Up for Health Care Benefits at LAUSD: Take Action Feb. 10

Stand Up for Healthcare logo We’re gearing up to start negotiations with LAUSD to protect and improve our health care benefits. Our health care benefit contract expires at the end of 2015, but were already moving forward to make sure the District does not cut our coverage or increase our premiums.

Health benefits are negotiated separate from our contract and are conducted jointly by the eight unions representing workers at LAUSD through the Health Benefits Committee (HBC). That means the power of more than 60,000 union members – SEIU Local 99, United Teachers Los Angeles, Administrators Association of L.A., L.A. School Police, CA School Employees Association, L.A. and Orange Counties Building & Construction Trades Council, L.A. School Police Management Association and Teamsters Local 572 – all united for health care!

On Tuesday, February 10, we’ll send a powerful message of solidarity to LAUSD. Thousands of union members will be wearing a “Standing Up for My Health Care” sticker. For a sticker, contact the UTLA Teacher Representative / Chapter Chair at your school.
