LAUSD, with the support of other organizations including SEIU Local 99, is making free badges with the slogan, “OUT for Safe Schools” available to District employees. These badges will be offered to staff who wish to show support for or be known as a resource for students, staff and families to discuss Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) concerns. The badges will have a handy list of district and community resources that you can share with your colleagues and students who may need additional support.
These badges are optional so you are not required to wear them. They are simply meant to be a symbol of support for our students and colleagues who are part of the LGBT community at LAUSD.
