WHAT:
School workers are hosting a free community health and resource fair with information about medical services and programs available at low or no cost. The fair will feature onsite exams, including diabetes, vision, dental, blood pressure, and spinal screenings. The family friendly event includes giveaways, raffles and lots of fun activities for children.
WHY:
School employees see firsthand how students and families struggle to meet their health care needs and how the lack of quality health care and good nutrition affects student learning. School workers are hosting the event at a school site to bring information and services directly to parents and students.
WHO:
School employees and more than 20 healthcare organizations, including: St. Francis Medical Center, UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic, American Cancer Society, Helpline Youth Counseling, County of Los Angeles Public Health, Los Angeles County Office of Women’s Health, and several medical, vision, and dental clinics
