Can a member hold a leadership position on more than one committee? Per SEIU Local 99’s Executive Board Policy: “No member shall hold more than one (1) committee leadership position.” Therefore, once any of the above listed members are elected to a committee office, they are immediately prohibited from being elected to another office, and will accordingly be removed from consideration (i.e., taken off the ballot) for all other offices for which they were nominated.
Who can participate and vote in member committee elections? Only “Active” committee members may participate in the nomination and election process. “Active” committee members are those members who have attended a minimum of three (3) committee meetings during the previous calendar year (January-December 2012).
What is the term of service? Committee leadership is for one year and each committee holds leadership elections every year.
