“Becoming a Leader” Training helps YOU determine where to plug in to build US!
This training is designed to help members explore different ways to be a part of building union strength, such as…
- Representing co-workers at our workplaces as we enforce our contract and our rights on the job
- How to help build unity and strength in numbers at your workplace and throughout our union
- How to make sure union members have a voice in politics, where so much about the work we provide is decided (like laws about unemployment insurance and education funding).
The next “BECOMING A LEADER” TRAINING will be:

Steward Training* includes development of key skills that help US:
- Work with management and field representatives
- Write a grievance and move it through the grievance process
- Interpret our contract
- Conduct informal meetings with management
- Organize and conduct worksite meetings
- Sign-up new members
- Talk to members about the importance of political action and COPE contributions
*Steward Training is for first-time Stewards —AND— existing Stewards who need re-certification.
