To ensure the safety and health of students and staff impacted by the natural gas leak in the Porter Ranch area, the LAUSD School Board voted to temporarily relocate Castlebay Lane Charter and Porter Ranch Community school to other District sites. The relocation will be in effect when classes resume after winter break.
UPDATE: The District has confirmed to our union that there will be no staff reductions as a result of the relocation of the schools. Everyone should expect to return to their home school when the situation is resolved.
SEIU Local 99 will be working with the District on this issue and we will continue to provide information as more details become available.
