We overwhelmingly ratify our Tentative Contract Agreement at Lynwood Unified, which includes wage increases & stronger protections

With 97% support, SEIU Local 99 members at Lynwood Unified ratified a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract on Thursday, August 13.

The next day at a special meeting, the Lynwood Unified School Board also ratified the agreement, making this our official new labor union contract.

Because the Lynwood Unified School Board also ratifies our contracts, it’s important that we have School Board Members who value the work that we do in our schools!

In November…

We will elect new School Board Members!

Come to a Town Hall on Tuesday, August 18 to help decide who SEIU Local 99 will endorse in these races.

Our member-led bargaining team reached an agreement that includes gains on many of the top priorities members identified in bargaining surveys, including wage increases, longevity, more hours, training, access to vacation & holiday time, stronger non-discrimination protection, improved worksite transfer policy, improved grievance procedure, and more. Highlights of the agreement include:

>>Wage Increases
• Wage increase of $1 on base wages,
• 4% one-time bonus paid by August 31, 2015
• 1% increase on base wages as of 1st paycheck in December, 2015

>>Longevity increased for most years of service and we added 30 and 35 years

>> A committee made up of union members and representatives from Lynwood Unified to discuss cross training opportunities and vacation cash out
