Rally June 9 for Stronger A-G Program at LAUSD: Including More Summer School!

On Tuesday, June 9, 2015, the LAUSD School Board will be voting on a Resolution to re-commit to the A-G Graduation Requirements the District adopted ten years ago. A-G is a sequence of classes that all students must take in order to graduate ready for college and careers. Without A-G, students are barred from attending a UC/CSU directly after high school and have less of a chance of finding a job that pays a living wage.

In the past decade, though, the District has cut many of the supports and services that help students pass the A-G coursework. One major cutback has been summer school. Join us as we rally for a stronger A-G program, including the restoration and expansion of summer school in the coming years. Expanding summer school will help more students graduate, improve the quality of education in our schools, and support more good jobs during the summer break. Let’s stand together with students, parents, and our community for quality schools and good jobs!
