Let’s make good use of TWO UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES to chime in about California’s child care system

Dear Child Care Provider,

If you don’t have time to read my whole email, just click here and here!

Now for those of you with two minutes…

One thing most providers I know agree on is that those of us actually providing the early education and care need to have a voice in our industry. We have two great opportunities to be heard!

  1. Last week, I told you about California Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon’s upcoming Blue Ribbon Commission on Early Childhood Education Southern California public hearing next Thursday, July 27th. This is an amazing opportunity to have an influence on California’s child care system. Register today!
  2. I’ve just learned that the new Early Education Reporter at KPCC Southern California Public Radio, Priska Neely, wants to hear from us! She’s reaching out to her listening audience for ideas on what early education news to cover. Let’s make sure she hears from us! Click here today! Let’s tell her that we play a critical role in brain development—but she also needs to know that California’s child care system is broken! We barely make ends meet, don’t have paid sick days, don’t have good access to affordable health insurance, don’t have a retirement plan, don’t have access to workers comp—and at the same time we know countless families struggling to afford quality child care—yup: California’s child care system is definitely broken! This is an opportunity to get some good radio reporting on our issues.
