Crowds show up at our Union Hall for a good contract.

Yes! I want a strong contract at LAUSD!

(Click here to make the pledge!)

On Saturday, we packed our Union Hall to talk about what we want to see in our next contract with the District.

So many of us met Saturday to talk about worksite issues that our parking lot was overflowing and we didn’t have enough chairs for everyone. Those of us attending this important meeting made a commitment to be part of the Contract Action Team. We pledged to keep our co-workers informed about what’s happening at the bargaining table and make sure we’re all ready to take action to support our Bargaining Team.

“I decided to join our CAT team because I’m a millennial. I’m going to be working at this job for at least 20 more years! I want to do everything I can to make sure my job is a good job. How can I complain if I’m not willing to do my part?”

Tarasha Patterson,
Bus Driver

“We had a great meeting. Our bargaining team will now take our surveys and the things we discussed Saturday to work on some concrete proposals that we’ll present to the District’s negotiators.”

Conrado Guerrero,
Building Engineer

“In our Unit C breakout on Saturday, we talked about several issues facing food service workers and how we can address them—including the need for more respect!”

Margaret Williams,
Sr. Food Service Worker

Our Bargaining Team will meet on February 11 to sift through all of the issues we discussed Saturday—plus all of the Bargaining Surveys that SEIU Local 99 members all across the District submitted late last year. With this input, our Bargaining Team will prepare our official proposals and get ready to negotiate with the District.

Be sure to join us when the Bargaining Team shares its proposals at our…

After the CAT meeting, our Stewards Council also met on Saturday. Our Stewards made a commitment to meet at least every two months to review worksite issues, receive Steward Training and strategize on how to build support for our Bargaining Team as we negotiate our next contract with LAUSD.
