SEIU Local 99 members voted on November 20, 2015 to ratify a contract re-opener that includes:
- Significant wage increases for members in all Divisions.
- Improved “Job Steps” progression for Head Start Teachers, by separating it from Parent Educators and eliminating the two-year service and satisfactory job evaluation requirements for advancement of Head Start Teachers to step 2.
“We are all dedicated to the learning and growth of the children. We are all essential to Options and committed to the families we serve. It’s only fair that we be paid more,” said Sarah Leon, a Teacher’s Assistant for the Full Day Program, a Union Steward, and a member of our contract bargaining team.
The contract also includes an improved Flexible Health Care Benefits Plan which members previously approved. The plan includes more affordable coverage and allows members to select from various options medical, dental, vision, supplemental life insurance, legal assistance and other coverage, including AFLAC and accident insurance.
