Barbara Torres, who took over the remaining term of the late President Eddie Reed and was elected President, said: “Working with this new executive board, I envision a more transparent union, with more engaged members, willing to take more ownership of their union. This means more members getting involved, stepping up to the plate, uniting in collective action, and building relationships amongst each other. Together with this group of officers and board members, I believe we can do it! We come from different industries, different classifications and different backgrounds, and we’ve come together, uniting under the same purpose…using what we know to build a stronger union for working people.”
