SEIU Local 99 provider leaders opened up our union hall April 11 to reach out to other child care providers and gain a deeper understanding of how much strength we have when we come together to make change.
We looked back at all we’ve accomplished in eleven years—stopping budget cuts, winning rate increases, meeting quarterly with top decision makers at the California Department of Education, and addressing payment concerns and other issues with agencies.
Then we focused on everything we still must change, such as low pay and the need to have a voice in our industry.
Finally, providers visited specialty booths with more information on our actions this year to pass SB 548, working with networks, resolving payment issues, resources and benefits available to SEIU Local 99 child care providers and much more.
