Many SEIU Local 99 members rely on Social Security in their plans for retirement. But right now, there’s a loophole that lets higher income earners avoid contributing to Social Security as much as the rest of us. And since those higher income earners are taking up more and more of the country’s total income, it hurts the rest of us when they don’t pay their fair share. Closing that loophole would protect this system that protects the middle class.
