Tom Torlakson has been a champion in the fight to make sure child care providers serving children in our neediest neighborhoods have the right to collective bargaining so they can better advocate for the families and children who depend on them. As our state’s top education leader, Torlakson recognized the unique role of child care providers in preparing our next generation of students and took the initiative to create a space where neighborhood child care providers could voice and address concerns impacting their ability to provide California’s children with the early learning and care needed to succeed.
