“Thanks, fast food workers!” says Bargaining Team Member Rafael Sanchez. “We support your Fight for $15!”

Rafael Sanchez addresses Fight for 15 campaign-small

Bell High School Teacher’s Assistant Rafael Sanchez visited a group of Los Angeles fast food workers in August as they planned their ongoing campaign to win their own $15 minimum wage.

“Fast food workers really brought the whole $15 minimum wage fight to the public’s attention,” said Rafael, who served on the Local 99 Bargaining Team as we fought for our own $15 minimum wage at LAUSD. “What struck me most was that these weren’t just the kids out of high school that you think of as fast food workers. Many of these workers are in their fifties trying to support their families. I’m inspired by their hope and determination. They’ve been in this fight for a while now.”

Rafael was there to thank these fast food workers for their support during our own campaign to win a $15 minimum wage.
