Let’s Tell LAUSD To Fund Good Jobs & Quality Student Services: Join a Town Hall Meeting in October

Thanks to our work to pass Proposition 30, our schools are finally getting more money. LAUSD is hosting Town Hall Meetings throughout the District to hear from the public on how to best use this funding.

SEIU Local 99 members provide services that are essential to student learning. We know it is difficult for students to learn if they are hungry, or if the school is not clean or safe, or if they don’t have instructional support in the classroom. It is crucial that we come to these meetings and let the District know how important our work is to student success.

Under a new provision in the state budget called the Local Control Funding Formula, school districts will have greater control on how to spend funding dollars, but this doesn’t mean they will be spending money where it is most needed.

Join us at one of these Town Hall Meetings and tell LAUSD to fund the good jobs and programs needed to support student learning inside and outside the classroom.
