Attention Lynwood USD Members: SEIU Local 99 Health Insurance Improvements Take Effect October 1st

Open enrollment is August 19-September 19, 2013.

Our members demanded more-affordable health insurance, so SEIU 99 negotiated an increase in the District’s contribution for health insurance benefits. Combined with the move to CalPERS medical plans, these improvements will be in effect this upcoming plan year:

  • All plans have no employee out-of-pocket for single employee plans; some plans have out-of-pocket for spouses and/or families.
  • Kaiser rates went up 7.84%, but employee out-of-pocket premiums went down $125/month for both two-party and family plans – with no employee out-of-pocket premium costs for single employees.
  • Basic Dental and Vision HMO plans are covered with no employee out-of-pocket, PPO Dental and Vision plans are available at $97/month for Dental PPO, and & 6.29/month for Vision PPO.

For details, please refer to enrollment documents to be sent by the District, or come to a special informational meeting on:
