Why the Board of Supervisors matter to Local 99 members:
- The LA County Board of Supervisors has the power to appoint the Superintendent of LA County Office of Education (LACOE), which directly oversees school districts in LA County such as LAUSD.
- LA Board of Supervisors directly oversees Calworks stage 1 and the LA County Office of Child Care.
- LA Board of supervisors has authority over LA Community Colleges as well.
