SEIU members met in a series of Town Hall meetings and interviewed the candidates in critical Los Angeles City races. We asked them their positions on jobs, budgets, the quality of our children’s education and other issues important to working families. After hearing from the candidates, SEIU members voted to endorse the following in the March 5, 2013 Primary Election:
Los Angeles Mayor : NO ENDORSEMENT. There are strong candidates in this race and SEIU members decided not to endorse any single candidate in the primary election.

Measure A: Vote YES
Measure A, also known as the neighborhood public safety and vital services funding and accountability measure, would offset the severe state budget cuts of the past few years with a one-half cent sales tax to pay for 911 emergency response services; maintaining firefighter, paramedic, and police officer staffing levels; continuing community policing, senior services, after-school gang and drug prevention programs; repairing potholes and sidewalks; and other city services.
